Curator of food-themed, multi-media contemporary art exhibitions. Unconventional venues: the interiors of large moving trucks parked for a day, vacant meat lockers, pastry school, restaurant kitchens, and urban brickyards.  Collaborators: artists, dancers, musicians, writers, chefs, restaurants, farmers, farmers’ markets, health clinics, and many theme-related sponsors.

First-ever, block party extravaganza where all the residents made and presented 100% homemade pies.  There was a DJ and a STEM/engineering table where the ideas of motion and resisitance were explained through hands-on model making.

Cochon Ball: When Scrubs Fly

The 2nd  annual  costumed, health-themed, human foosball sporting event while local chefs & NYC artist roasted six wild hogs  in the opposing goalies.  In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, we celebrated the surge of pop-up farmer’s markets and local health clinics as Charity Hospital closed, the second longest operating public hospital in the United States.  Participants wore medical scrubs, and white lab coats.

Cochon Ball: A Pig Field Folly

The 1st  annual  costumed, hog-themed, human foosball sporting event while local NOLA chefs and NYC artist roasted pigs in the opposing goalies. We celebrated small U.S. independent farms preserving rare American hog breeds, the recorded oral histories of Cajun boudin sausage makers, pigs in the media (Kevin Bacon, Miss Piggy, etc).  All participants wore pink-red coloured sausage-themed shirts. It was the closing event for New Orleans’ first Prospect 1, Biennial.

Citywide, NYC  2002
A two-week long, food themed festival held in multiple sites around NYC.  Exhibitions and events took place starting at the United Nations, moved on to the menus of blue-chip restaurants in Tribeca, NYC, and ended up at the NY Chocolate Show.

1.  Chefs & Artists 
United teams of Executive Chefs and NYC artists who created signature menus, while each artist exhibited their works in their respective restaurants during the two-week festival.
•  Delegates Dining Room at the United Nations:  Executive Chef Ed Lake and Alisoun created a signature menu, then  transformed the entire executive kitchen where they served a lavish luncheon for forty Italian dignitaries, product CEO’s, and visiting Italian artists.  Alisoun exhibited six wall-sized meat drawings in the UN’s Delegate’s Dining Room.

Dining Haul: Unpacked no. 4
Two vacant meat lockers, Washington St., Meat Packing District, NYC  2002

Transformed two adjoining meat lockers into temporary galleries, hung artwork on meat hooks, while a performance of Butoh dancers slow-motioned Sumo wrestled in a giant pool of coleslaw to beat-box music. Created a neighborhood map which listed MPD businesses, who for two weeks, closed late every night while Dining Haul: Unpacked no. 4 was open.
